Keeping Your Business and Home Clean

Let The Professionals Clean Your Rental Home

Owning a rental home can be a great source of income, but it can also come with quite a few headaches. Not only will you have to keep up with the maintenance and upkeep of your own home, but you'll also have the rental home to tend to. Here you'll find a few tips that can help make the upkeep a little easier for you – for both your rental home and your family's home.

Schedule Carpet Cleanings in Advance

One of the hardest things to keep clean in a rental home is the carpeting. Schedule regular carpet cleanings for both your home and the rental home in advance. If you have the standing appointment to get carpet cleaning done in both places, you'll be less likely to forget about it and you'll be able to inform the tenant in the rental that the carpet will be cleaned on a certain date each year or every six months - however often you feel that the cleaning is needed.

When the carpet cleaners go to the rental home, make an appearance. This is a great time for you to discuss any problems that your tenant may be having and for you to inspect the rest of the home for any other repairs or upkeep that it may need.

Exterior Cleaning Services

Keeping up with the exterior cleaning of two properties can take way more time than most people have to invest. Instead of struggling to get it all done on your own, hire professionals to come out and clean the siding, windows, gutters and concrete surfaces.

How often these services need to be performed depends greatly on the location of the homes. If you live in an area prone to algae and moss growth, you'd do best to have the exterior of the home cleaned at least once each year.

Tip: When you contact these service professionals, inform them that you have two properties that you hope to get taken care of. This may get you a small discount for giving them the business from both of your properties, and possibly booking in advance.

You have a lot on your plate already, so why not pass the responsibilities that you can pass on to someone else? If you're spending all of your free time taking care of the properties, you're missing out on life – go live life and let the professionals do the cleaning for you.
